1) General Biology - Wikibooks

This is an excellent site that covers most areas of the subject Biology. It gives short, detailed descriptions and explanations of many different topics/ chapters that you would be interested in. It includes the following subtopics: Cells, genetics, the classification of living things, evolution, tissues and systems, as well as additional material. The site contains many detailed images which enhance its functionality.

2) The Biology Web

If you do not require much visual stimulation in a web site, then this one may be for you. The home page is very boring and lacks energy, but once you are researching the topic you would like, you will find that the pictures and diagrams used are simple and easy to understand. One thing we do not like about this site is that there is too much information compiled on each page and it is hard to read.
