Praise

If you see or hear about someone who did something to stop animal abuse or help an animal in need, praise the person and the activity. Our team came to know of a student in India, Gowri, who saw an injured puppy in her school compound. An aggressive dog attacked the puppy and threw him onto a big boulder. The puppy was injured. Gowri, went to her school nurse, got the first aid kit and helped the puppy. In addition, she arranged for the puppy to be cared for properly and spent some of her own money for this!

When one of our team members, Dylan, heard about this remarkable incident, his non-profit organization awarded her a financial award of Rs. 10,000 in recognition of her good deed. This money was awarded to her through Dylan's grandmother, who personally presented Gowri with the award money during the school assembly. There were two reasons we wanted to recognize Gowri. Gowri comes from a very poor family and it was impressive that despite the financial difficulties she selflessly gave her money to help the puppy. The second reason was to help her financially with her education, while simultaneously getting her and the action a lot of attention so more children will get motivated to do something positive to help the animals. Did you know that, following the incident and the multiple awards that Gowri received, Gowri's school decided to allow Gowri to continue the rest of her education at the same school free of cost? Great job, Gowri!
