Roadside Zoos: Prison on Wheels

Here are a few things
we noticed happening at travel zoos:

Animals sitting in tiny, dirty cages with food and their own excrements scattered around.
Chimpanzees housed alone and going crazy from lacking company and being trapped in tiny miserable cages.
Kangaroo housed in barren cages with not enough room to jump and with no stimulation.
Lions pace in their cage bored and aimlessly.
Animals crammed in cages with barely enough room to turn around.
Animals housed in cages with insufficient heat in the winter.
Animals drinking from water bowls filled with dirty water; bowls in some cages were empty.
Animals not being able to exercise natural behaviors.

		What can you do to help these animals?
		Do not attend roadside zoos, game parks, travel safaris, or petting zoos. If you hear about a travel zoo coming to your area, write to authorities in your area stating why they are cruel to animals. Get the support of the community to peacefully protest such exhibits. If you see any animal in distress, pain, or suffering report it promptly. Distribute brochures about the problem
