Mountain Biking, MTB, is an individual and a team sport. It is done on hills, rocks and dirt. Races are held on dirt paths, between trees, through mud, and down steep, rocky slopes. The length of the races can very from as short as a few minutes to as long as 24 hours. In the twenty-four hour race the riders ride all day and all night with no stops. The races test the endurance of the riders. MTB bikes are built to ride anywhere. They have strong wheels with wide groves that grip uneven surfaces.
