SANT ANTONI
It's celebrated in a lot of villages in Mallorca. On Sant Antoni's Eve, we make a fire and prepare a barbacue to cook typical food. During the night people sing and play an instrument called "ximbomba" and the demons dance.
BENEIDES
On next day we do the Beneides (the blessing of the animals). People bring their pets to be blessed by the priest . CORREFOCS
It is a very fun activity because children and old people have to wear appropiate clothes: 1. You have to wear thick clothes because the fire could burn your skin. The clothes you wear have to protect your skin from burning. 2.Before the "correfoc" starts, you should have a shower in a fountain.  |
