Saint David is the patron saint of Wales.
He was born and died at Mynyw (Menevia), Pembrokshire, South West Wales.
His father was called Sant and he came from royal lineage as the grandson of Ceredigion who was prince of Ceredigion in South West Wales. His mother named Non was the daughter of a local chieftan.
There is legend that they belonged to King Arthur.
His symbol, also the symbol of Wales, is the leek.
On March 1st the people of Wales celebrate St David's day.
