SANCTUARY OF TINDARI

Tindari is a small town in Sicily where you can find a statue of a black woman that performs miracles. One day a woman went to see the statue and when she saw it she said: “I can not believe it, I came all this way just to see a black statue”. By the sanctuary there was a cliff with rocks at the bottom of it. The woman with her baby in her arms went by the cliff to see the sea, she accidentally dropped her baby but the holy statue performed a miracle which closed the sea over the rocks so the baby would fall in the water and saved the baby’s life.

Italian version SANTUARIO DI TINDARI Tindari e’ un piccolo paese della Sicilia dove si trova la statua di una Madonna dal colore della pelle nera, di cui si dice faccia miracoli. Un giorno, durante un pellegrinaggio, una donna vedendo la statua disse: “ non riesco a crederci, ho fatto tutta questa strada solo per vedere una statua nera”. Nei pressi del santuario si trovava un precipizio ai cui piedi c’erano degli scogli e poco vicino, il mare. La donna si avvicino’ per vedere il panorama, ma accidentalmente fece cadere il suo bambino che teneva tra le braccia. Miracolosamente il mare rientro’ fra gli scogli, il bambino cadde sulle acque, riuscendosi cosi’ a salvare.
