St George and the Dragon            

There was once a town that was built on a cliff.
In the cliff was a cave.
In the cave a dragon lived.
The town hated the dragon and were afraid the beast would attack them so they gave the dragon meat thinking the beast would go away but, when the dragon had the meat it settled   down to stay.
Soon the town was running out of meat and the chief said the children would be killed.
The children were given a number and each week a number would be drawn and the child with that number would die.
7 boys and 9 girls met this fate but one week the chief was upset because his daughter was going to be killed when st George came by…
He had heard about the dragon and promised to kill it. The king agreed and St George went to kill the dragon.

When st George arrived at the dragons cave the princess was already there and George told her that he was going to save her. As soon as he said this the dragon came roaring out of its cave and lunged at George. The next minutes were chaotic but when it was all over George stood back and cleaned his sword and cut the princesses bonds. Together they went back to the castle, the townsfolk were delighted that they had come back all in one piece. George asked to marry the princess, the king said yes and so George and the princess married and had children of their own
