TRADITIONAL BRUNEI RECIPE CURRY PUFFS

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

1 small (80g)onion finely chopped

1 small potato finely chopped

2 teaspoons of resh ginger

2 cloves of garlic crushed

4 green shallots

150g minced beef

1 tablespoon of curry powder

80ml coconut cream

225g plain flour

100g butter

1 egg yolk

2 tablespoons of lemon juice

1 egg lightly beaten

Method

Heat oil in pan then when it has heated up for a couple of minutes add the onion then stir until onion is soft. Add potato,ginger, garlic, shallots and the mince and stir for two minutes. When the mince is brown and the potatos are tender add the curry and coconut cream and stir well until its cool. sift flour into bowl then rub in the butter then add egg yolk and just the right amount of juice to create a soft dough. Smooth the dough and roll into a ball. After that cover it up and leave for 30 mins. Roll the dough between 2 sheets of baking paper to 3mm thickness and put mince inside and cook for 20 minutes and enjoy.
