Broadway Jazz
When dancing this style of dance you most likely need training in almost all types of dance! Broadway Jazz is taught at not many dance schools, but is performed in nearly every musical. This style of dance combines jazz, ballet, and almost every other type of dance depending on what musical the dance is being taught for.
Usually Broadway Jazz dancers wear character shoes or any other shoe depending on the musical! Costumes, staging, and lighting also depend on the musical.
In Broadway Jazz the dancers must know how to kick their leg. Simple right? No, they must know various kicks, how to do them and the kicks must be a certain height. Some kicks include; Jump kick, Piano kick, Piano/Jump kick, and a regular kick. Kick lines need to look even so everyone in it must be relative to each other in height and their kicks must reach a minimum of ninety degrees!
Broadway Jazz is a wonderful style of dance that is as unique as the individuals that dance it.
