It’s a two coloured tree. It’s one of the most wide-spread ficus.
It’s lives in the tropical area. It’s original home is Africa, South-East Asia, India and Indonesia, where it can grow 20-25 meter high.
If it’s free-grown, it grows a lots of branching out roots from it’s crown.
It’s a wooded-stem plant, but when it’s young it only has a green, soft stalk. It’s Straight, smooth-surfaced, cylinder-shaped and brown coloured.
The branches are branching out. The crown is globular-shaped.
The leaves are think and fleshy, shiny and skin-like. They are oval, the state of the leaves is diffuse. The tips are sharp, green-coloured. The sap is poisoning.
The young sprouts are protected by stipule. The fruit is acorn.
It needs the light, The morning sunlight is very good for it.
It likes the average temperature, but it can’t be under 13°C.
It like the normal water support. We can water it in every 2-3 days, but at winter it’s not necessary that frequent.
It needs the high humidity. Drizzle the leaves when it’s hot.
The draught and the sudden temperature change can cause leaf-falling. The moulds can attack the plant and cause disease.
Shield bugs can attack the plant.
