Childhood

Osama bin Muhammad bin Awad bin Laden was born on March 10, 1957 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His father, Muhammad Awad bin Laden, was a wealthy business man. This wealthy man had very good relations with the royal family of Saudi Arabia, giving Osama a very satisfying childhood. Osama was the only son of his father’s tenth wife. Osama’s mother soon divorced with his father, and the new couple had four children. With his new family, Osama was raised as a Sunni Moslem. He attended Al-Thager Modeling School from 1968 to 1976. He graduated to King Abdulaziz University. He majored in economics and business administration. Though he was a very promising student, he dropped out of college after his third year.

9/11 Attacks

On September 11, 2001, Osama ordered his terrorist group, Al Qaeda, an organization that he founded about 20 years ago, to hijack several planes. Flights 93, 175, 11, 77 were all used for the master plan. They were ordered to fly the planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the White House. Only 2 planes were successful. They devastating attacks only got to the Pentagon and the twin towers. But the World Trade Center was by far the most damaged. The building that was made to survive plane crashes almost survived. When the plane pummeled through the building, every one inside was instantly stricken with panic. Many could not find there way out due to the smoke and fire from the plane. At first it seemed it was going to be alright. But the fuel from the plane engine had been slowly melting the center’s steel frame from within. The building completely collapsed on itself claming over hundreds of innocent people inside. The other plane only made it to the very side of the Pentagon. All in all, roughly 3,000 people lost their lives. While some American’s just want Osama brought to justice, many want to see his demise. Osama says that the attacks were for offending the Moslem religion and that is was the true will of their lord Allah. While some Moslems in Afghanistan support his vicious crimes, many disagree.

9/11 Conspiracy

The attacks also led to tons of unnecessary stereotypes and prejudice. But the strange mystery about 9/11, is that many people have started conspiracies about the attacks. Or in other words, some people think that this was not the work of Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda, but the government. They think that the president really bombed the buildings, as an excuse to go to war with Iraq, which has high deposits of oil. And more oil means more money.

Background Knowledge

Osama bin Laden is the only U.S. enemy that does not have an entire country do pay for his war. Thus, food and shelter are a major inconvenience for him. We are still in Afghanistan, looking for him and trying to bring him to justice this very day.
