“Heil Hitler, Heil Hitler!” During the times of World War II which was from September 1, 1939 to September 2, 1945. Hitler was ruling a massive empire, from which he gained through propaganda, his ability of being a great speaker, and lastly his own army of Germany.

Adolf Hitler was born April 20th, 1889 born in Braunau am Inn in Austria. Adolf was the fourth child of six. His father was Alois Hitler, and his mother was Klara Polzl. Klara Polzl was Alois’s third wife. Adolf was often whipped by his father during childhood. There were rumors believed that Adolf was a quarter Jewish, but these rumors were never proved. Adolf’s early school life was excellent; in his class was Ludwig Wittgenstein, which was a great philosopher of the 20th century. It was believed that he had a conflict with Jewish children, which was thought to have been a crucial moment as an anti Semite. He was the top of his class in elementary school, but then when he when into sixth grade he fell behind and he quit trying in school. Then at the age of 16 he dropped out of high school without a degree. He was then trying to make a living struggling as a painter in Vienna. He was copying scenes from postcards and selling them to merchants and tourists. He then ran out of money and went to live in a homeless shelter then shortly after he went to a house for poor working men. He said he first became an anti-Semite in Vienna because of the large Jewish community. He might have been influenced by different anti-Semites, but it didn’t seem like he was very anti-Semite because he was often a guest at noble Jewish homes.

He then received the last of his father’s estate in May 1913. He was then looked at but the Austrian army to go into World War 1, but he was deemed unfit. However when World War 1 started he petitioned King Ludwig the 3 to let him serve in a Bavarian Regiment. He was then granted permission to serve in the war. He was in the 16th Bavarian Reserve Regiment, which exposed him to enemy fire. During World War 1 he received two awards for his bravery. He received the Iron Cross and the Wound Badge. Then on October 15, 1918 he was sent to a field hospital because he was temporarily blinded by a mustard gas attack. A few people thought that during this time he was convinced his life purpose was the save Germany.

He then formed the Nazi party which was a political group. His group promised Germany that they would led them to greatness, while blaming their problems on the Jewish people. He failed in overthrowing the Republic. Then the political turning point for Hitler and the Nazi party was during the Great Depression of Germany in 1930. Then he had become Chancellor of Germany January 30, of 1933. Then the president of Germany, Paul von Hindenburg died August 2, 1934, but instead of holding new elections Hitler made him self leader and chancellor of Germany. He passed a law saying that the ruling ability would be passed to the head of the state. Therefore Hitler had attained a supreme rule that could not be legally challenged. He then increased his army size to 600,000 men which was six times the agreement in the Treaty of Versailles which was made after the defeat of World War 1. He also started an air force and navy. He then formed the Axis Powers which included Germany, Italy, Japan, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania. He then held a secret meeting with the War and Foreign Ministers and three of the service chiefs, and stated his plans about acquiring living space for the German people.

At the beginning of the holocaust he started with children with disabilities, but after a public outcry Hitler made a show of ending the killings but the truth was the killings continued. He called the places where 11 to 14 million people died were called concentration camps or death camps. The ways of killing were all very gruesome. The mass murder of the Jewish people was known as the “Final Solution”. He was once recorded saying to his associates “We shall regain our health only by eliminating Jews.”

Then after he was thought to be all for peace, but then he attacked surrounding countries and took over many places. He had many victories during the war, but the Allies attacked back, and started moving in on Germany. Hitler knew he was losing the war, and he thought if he was going to go down the Germany would be going down with him. He made reckless choices, and his associates tried to kill him with a bomb in a meeting, but they had failed. Then the Allies were getting closer and closer to victory. Then he committed suicide on April 30, 1945 by shooting himself with a gun.
