Try putting yourself in the shoes of a real kid from Mexico: ~The lack of clean water has gotten so bad that your government considers it a matter of national security. This is one of Mexico's main issues ~Your country has roughly 108 million people in it. If everyone was spread out over the whole land, that would be just great, at around five people per square kilometer. Unfortunately, Mexico does have cities. In Mexico City's metro. area alone, just under 1/5 of the population lives. ~According to a 2003 est., 92 out of every 100 people know how to read. ~Just a hair over 8/10 people you see every day are Roman Catholic. ~Your country has a labor force of 43.4 million. ~Of that 43.4 million, roughly 7,811,999 people and your dad work for the agriculture industry. ~Every year on September 16 you celebrate Independence Day. ~Your country's trade with the U.S. and Canada has tripled since 1994. ~3.7% of your country is unemployed. A scarier number, however, is your country's underemployment rate of around 25%! |

Your country has a wide range of solutions, especially for the water situation. They vary greatly in size; from the odd (using "mucilage"-the pulpy stuff in the middle of the prickly pear cactus), to the serious (government involvement). If your country continues down this track, at least one of Mexico's problems should be cleared up. |
