| Japan has a quite significant population. Who can sneeze at 127 million? It's a respectable number. However, when you take that number and try to cram it into less than 378 thousand square km, it doesn't sound as nice. |

Put yourself in their shoes: ~Four out of every five people you see walking down the street are Shinto or Buddhist-or both. ~More people die in your country in one day than the number of babies born in the same time. ~As of 2003, about 67 million people worked in the work force. ~Unlike most countries, out of that 67 million, only a small (4) percent is employed in agriculture. ~99 of every 100 people on the street can read. ~When you turn 20, you earn the right to vote. ~Your uncle works on a fishing boat. He told you that Japan has one of the largest fishing fleets in the world. In school, your teacher told you the same thing. He added that Japan makes up nearly 15% of the global catch. |

With both it's very high literacy rate and it's relatively low (4) unemployment rate, Japan has a bright future. The only issue that could grow into a big problem is the shrinking, but that could very well be temporary. Your country is doing pretty well overall. |
