According to CNN, "...one in three American adults is considered to be obese. And childhood obesity is at an all-time high." One cause of this could be lifestyle changes. A lifestyle change that may have caused this is the trend of families to eat at fast food restaurants. Instead of eating a healthy home cooked meal, many American families will order from a fast food restaurant.

According to BBC News, when studying fast food at the Medical Research Council, specialists discovered that a majority of fast food is incredibly dense in calories, meaning a person would only need a small serving to meet their caloric needs. Studies have revealed that these fast foods can trick people into eating more calories than their bodies really need. Ordinary fast food meals have an enormous amount of calories with more than one and one half times the calories of a standard British meal and two and one half times the calories of an African meal.
This is very bad for health because restaurants such as Kentucky Fried Chicken have items that contain 770 calories. If you ate that item every day for a week, 3 times a day, it would equal 16,170 calories a week, many calories more than home cooked meals would usually contain.
