A day in your life

You wake up... You may jump out of bed instantly or take your time waking up. It doesn’t matter however. Because the next step is searching for something which is paramount to your existence. And no, I'm not talking about food. Yes, it's the TV remote control. Or your favourite magazine. Also, you may as well turn on your PC and surf the Internet. Apparently the lazy side of your brain is quite attracted to these objects. After enjoying your share of light TV shows/magazine articles, chatting with some friends through the Messenger or (best case scenario) watching/listening/reading the latest news, you drink some coffee, eat something on the run and get dressed. Eventually, you head off to school. Yes, you hate this part of the day. But you get used to the thought, while day-dreaming about the forthcoming night out with your friends (you know, small talk, laughter, music, dancing).

Finally, you return home and do the usual things. Once again, you watch TV, skim through the magazines, surf on the Internet. And then, you go to sleep...

And of course, your existence isn't mundane. Not the slightest bit. You spend 60 or 70 percent of your time typing almost unconsciously, playing brainwashing shooter games, 10 or 20 percent reading some mainstream magazines or watching TV shows (which incidentally do not increase your IQ or your knowledge about the world) and in the time remaining...you sleep. Let me tell you a secret...90 % of the teenage population does this. Still think you're original?

What if you wouldn’t be so clustered in the crowd? What if you would escape the boundaries of your existence? What if you could finally be able to think beyond the screen of your computer? What if you read a book?

ARE YOU WILLING TO LET BOOKS INTO YOUR LIVES?

Our goal

We are a small group of Romanian students who would like to make people more receptive to traditional forms of culture, such as reading books. We consider that reading should not be regarded as a chore, because it develops our imagination and it can be a pleasant way to discover new ideas, facts, and even ourselves.
We also intend analyzing the place of culture in everyday life through making polls and short videos.
One of our purposes is encouraging reading, because most people usually prefer surfing on the Internet, watching TV or reading a magazine/newspaper. However, we do not entirely disapprove the media, but, in our opinion, people should be made aware of the fact that lack of culture can have negative influences over society.
