Survey Analysis |
In order to show you just how much our local area knows about AIDS, our group took a survey of some people in our school to see how much people know about AIDS. We made sure that our data would be accurate and we surveyed people of all ages, with different opinions, and of different genders. Question #1: How much do you know about the causes of AIDS? (rate from 1-5, 5 being the most) Question #2: How much do you know about the cures of AIDS? (rate from 1-5, 5 being the most) Question #1-2 Data:
In these two questions, it entitles the people that we interviewed to say that they don't think they know much about the causes and the cures of AIDS. But, it also shows that people have an idea of what the causes and cures are, even though they may not know the exact reason. Question #3: Do you think AIDS mostly affects the people in Africa? (yes, no, I don't know) Question #3 Data:
This graph shows that most of the people we surveyed thought that AIDS mostly affected people in Africa. But still, a lot of people said that they didn't know. We think that most people think that AIDS mostly affects Africa because that is what people see the most on TV, the internet, etc. However, AIDS doesn't mostly affect people in Africa, it affects the whole world, even though it may be a big problem in Africa. Question #4: Check which of the following that you think that are causes of AIDS: (kissing, touching, having sex, drinking breast milk, and using a needle that is HIV infected) Question #4 Data:
This graph shows that most people that took this survey thought that having sex with a HIV-infected person can lead to getting the disease. The next majority was using an infected needles, then kissing, then touching. This comes to say that most people know something about AIDS and the reason to why it's caused, however, a lot of people don't know all of the causes of AIDS. But, what's good about this information is that most people know that you can't get this disease just by touching someone. Age
From what we see in the age graph, the majority of the people that took our survey were ages 12-13, after that, it was ages 10-11, then it was 18 and older. We think that this might make our data also slightly inaccurate because we didn't have the same number of people from each age because one age group might know more than another. Gender
From what we see in the gender graph, we had a pretty equal amount of each gender, but we did have a few more boys than girls that took this survey. So, by ratio, our data might be slightly incorrect because one gender might know more about AIDS than the other, making our data slightly incorrect. |
