Text Box: Expression for Depression Text Box: Art: This is one of the way that depression is expressed... through art. An individual puts their emotions and feelings into their work and if they are depressed then it will show. This is part of how "Emo" was created. One of the most hard-core song I have ever heard was We Sleep Forever by Aiden. Groups described as "Emo" Is My Chemical Romance, AFI, The Used, Underoath, Senses Fail, FallOutBoy. THEY ARE NOT EMO!! They are something completely different. Most Emo bands have broken up. Emo has messed up categorizing music. When talking about depression, read the lyrics. We Emos don't like it when people assume something is Emo just by how depressing it is. They think that Emo means emotional but no... (see the Emo section). If that was true then WE ALL WOULD BE EMOS (yes, I rant a lot).

Poetry:

Depressed Poetry is very noticeable... It will mention loneliness, sadness, death, and the occasional blood... There's so much loneliness in these poems. Here is an example (credit goes to xobsessiveTeddyx  at emobucket (It's like a big bucket of Emo! :D)):

“Alone…
She came to realize…she was standing alone
Her eyes finally saw…the darkness
The backstabber…the pretenders
She finally saw…the truth behind things

She was one of them…she pretended
She faked her feelings…just like them
She was a doll to them… a puppet
A puppet…that couldn’t cut her strings

She pretended to be happy
Because she was suppose to be happy
They couldn’t see her cry…she wouldn’t let them
They wouldn’t know she was weak

She let them play with her
She acted like it didn’t matter
She let them take over
Because she had nothing left

Either way she was alone
It was just her…and everything else was fading”
