We found information about sobrassada in the "Consell regulador de sobrassada de mallorca".
WEB PAGE: www.sobrasadademallorca.org
We also visited a covered fresh produce market in our city called the Mercat de l'Olivar. It is
a typical market where people buy fresh food daily. You can find a
market like this in most towns in our island. The web page of the
market is: mercats.palmademallorca.es/cat_mercats_cons.htm
The recipes were taken from the booklet "Sabors per a l'hivern", edited
by the "Consell regulador de la denominació específica
sobrassada de mallorca".
We would like to thank our guide to the visit to Mercat de
l'Olivar, Mr Tomeu Ferragut, a collaborator of the mayor of our
city, who explained the different uses of sobrassada in sweet and
savoury recipes as well as giving us an insight into the fascinating world of cooking with sobrassada.
We would like to thank as well Mr Tolo Trias, a famous cook in Mallorca, who allowed us to interview him.
Finally, this website would not have been possible without the help of
our Technology teacher, Antònia Vidal who was very patient with
us and explained all about website creations, Mercè
Barceló our classroom assistant who showed us how to make
certain mallorcan recipes and Catherine Cobb our English teacher who
helped us with our english.
Most of the photos were taken from the search.creativecommons.org site and some of them were taken by our friend Maria.
