Tae Kwon Do was started 2000 years ago in Korea. Historians believed that Tae Kwon Do is the martial arts with the longest history. Silla, Baekjae and Kokooryo were the three Kingdoms which started Tae kwon Do.

Kokooryo was an important kingdom because Tae kwon Do started in 53 - 165 AD in Kokooryo. People living in Kokooryo liked to train for Tae Kwon Do. Koreans found a picture of the people training for Tae Kwon Do during that period of time.

Silla played quite an important role in the history of Tae Kwon Do because they made up the five sentences:
BE LOYAL TO YOUR COUNTRY.
HONOR YOUR PARENTS.
BE FAITHFUL TO YOUR FRIENDS.
NEVER RETREAT IN BATTLE.
USE GOOD JUDGMENT BEFORE KILLING LIVING THINGS.

Baekjae did not play a major role in the history of Tae Kwon Do. However, Baekjae used the techniques of Tae Kwon Do to protect their people and choose their leader.
