Formed in 1905, Chelsea was placed in the Second Division of the Football League. Missing out on hardware by losing the FA Cup, the Blues didn't win their first trophy until 1955 when the won the league title. In 1965, they won their first league cup but were defeated in the FA Cup two years later. Many football greats have been apart of Chelsea . Players like Ron “Chopper” Harris, Ian Hutchinson and Peter Osgood all were a part of Chelsea . In 1970, Chelsea, along with these three players, won the FA Cup, and one year later with a victory in the European Cup Winners' Cup. However, financial problems plagued Chelsea , dropping them from a highly successful club, to a team struggling to stay in the league.
