Mr. Low Yi Long

Mr Low is a technology teacher at Beatty Secondary School in Singapore and being involved with the school's website. He enjoy working on websites and website competitions. The topic of migrants immediately touched a chord with him due to its relevance in the Singapore context where we employ a lot of migrant workers from many countries ranging from China, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thai , Filipino, Indonesian, Sri Lankan and other workers. They are needed to fill in the gaps of our workforce where many locals do not want to work as construction labourers, as maids, and other such occupations. They play a crucial role in supporting the economy. At the same time Singapore relies on a lot of foreign talent and welcomes them. Brain drain of our own citizens is an issue that touches us. As a nation of immigrants, this relevance is a reminder of our own roots. America, as the superpower of the world is itself a nation founded on many migrants and relies on a constant stream of migrants. They are the unsung heroes

Without him this team can not be any complete. Mr. Low has contributed very much to our team with his role as a coach. He has been a great advisor and inspirer. Thanks to him, the name of the website - The Unsung Heroes - was once started by him as well.

We are proud that we have gone through an amazing teamwork for these past three months, for creating a website that can add broader knowledge about migration to our audience. We are also proud that we have overcome every obstacles that we faced, by maximally utilizing the resources that we have and striving with all our heart and soul to make this dream website a reality.
