I am against zoos because they are not doing the best they can. I feel they just try to meet the basics.
When our class visited the Sunset Zoo there were things that could have been better. At the Sunset Zoo, they have 50 acres of land and they were only using 26. They could of put a lot more animals into their zoo and helped them. The other problem is they have animals in small cages. They have 24 acres that they could use to build bigger cages.

In the Wichita zoo, they had an enormous monkey. It was in a small cage too. In the Sunset Zoo they had a snow leopard that was in a cage as big as our classroom.
Zoos research the animals and think they are seeing them acting normally. Well, they are not acting normal. For example a cheetah in an enclosure probably will not be able to run 60 or 80 miles per hour in its cage. It will not be eating normally either. The cheetah won’t be able to kill its food. Plus if people came to research them they will not act as if they are in the wild. Those are just some of the reasons.
I'm against zoos right now until they can prove to me that they are good for the animals. They must feel like they are in the wild. I feel animals should have a good home. Right now they do not and that is not fair to them.
