In this novel Ann Fessler tells a story about an untold history. A time when over a million women gave up their children for adoption because of different reasons, mainly because of social pressures and a large family. Over one hundred women tell stories of their accounts in giving away their children in specific details.


3. Over the Moon: An Adoption Tale by Karen Katz

This is another children’s book about a family who has been waiting for a new born child. They are so excited because they cannot wait to finally have this new born in their arms so they can care for and start a family with. They have to travel very far so they can get their bundle of joy.


4. The Kid: What Happened after My Boyfriend and I decided to Go Get Pregnant: An Adoption Story by Dan Savage

This is a story about not your average couple. This couple happens to have a homosexual relationship. They want to desperately have a family, but of course this brings about a problem with the uncertainty of gay adoption in today’s society. The couple is finally presented with an opportunity to adopt a new born baby in need, but they end up in more than what they bargained for, considering the struggle to actually be able to gain custody of the baby.
