Species and uses
Most coniferous forests yield softwood. Trees such as cedar, juniper, spruce and pine can be found here. Softwood has cellulose and lignin which are important for the paper and pulp industry. Spruce is important for the textile industry. Other uses include chemicals, dyes, paints and disinfectants. |
