Rainforests

Introduction
Tropical rainforests thrive near the equator where the climates are hot with an annual precipitation of between 2000 and 10 000 mm per year.

The slopes of mountains have heavier rainfall and support denser forest vegetation. Rainforests are also known as jungles.
