Combating haze

In 1997, the then Secretary General of ASEAN, Ong Keng Yong, reported that the persistent haze in the ASEAN countries caused a great loss in investment. He urged Indonesia and Philippines to ratify a regional treaty to control haze. After almost 10 years, he feels that the problem has not been solved. Commitment from the governments is of paramount importance.
