Desertification

Loss of biodiversity

Desertification can result in the loss of biodiversity. Only shrubs can thrive well under such conditions. In the face of desertification, animals grazing on grass lose their natural habitats which provide them with food, leading to their migration and even demise.

Transition zones have very delicate ecosystems. Hence, the plants and animals living in such areas may find it hard to survive.
