| Deforestation to build infrastructure for the paper industry A paper plant in Brazil, opened in 1978, caused roads to be built for the transportation of goods. Forests have to be cleared for such trucks to pass through. Also, this leads to soil erosion due to the loss of vegetative cover. You will read more about this in the section on soil erosion. |
