The Mayans were a very advanced civilization. They
accomplished many tasks. Many things they learned helped us in our
society. Here are some facts about Mayans.
· The Mayans claim according to the Maya Long Count Calendar the world began in 3114 B.C. or 3113 B.C.
· Mayan civilization began in 2600 B.C.
· Mayans adopted the idea of a society ruled by nobles and kings in 300 B.C.
· In 400 A.D. the Mayan highland fell under the domination of the Teotihuacán.
· Mayans were not called a “true” urban culture
