There are many different ways to help out the problem that is malnutrition. While money does help, contributing your time and effort can be just as good. Below are some organisations which need volunteers. There should also be opportunities within your community to help out. Asking your teacher at school is a good place to start if you are not sure.

  • WFP committee: "Food for world food program" are starting committe's in the US for each state. These committee's aim at fighting malnutrition in developing countries.

  • Action against hunger: This organisation provides some volunteer opportunities for people who want to fight malnutrition.

  • Second Harvest: This site provides ways in which to help fight hunger (a cause of malnutrition). You can donate, advocate or volunteer.

People with special skills

If you have special skills such as being a medical doctor, you can volunteer your time. Look for charities and organisations which need doctors to go on short overseas fied trips. Organisations may also require people with legal skills to help them advocate to the government. If you are a psychologist you could also try volunteering at a community centre or school to help those who have psychological problems. Remember, psychological issues are often a cause of malnutrition.
