PROTECTED SPECIES IN BUKOVINA
The variety of relief forms, the wealth and stretching of forests have led to the development of a cinegetic, diversified and precious fauna and flora, on Bukovina’s lands.
The national parks of Rodna and Călimani represent shelter for unique species of flora and fauna, having many caves and remarkable landscapes. Although known in the present as a land of spruce fir, Bukovina also has reservations of forests, including other species, as the beech forest, from Dragomirna. Far away from exhausting the list of vegetal originalities of Bukovina, Tinovul Mare from Poiana Stâmpei, a forest of pine trees, situated on peat sediment, is also a naturalistic rarity that delights every visitor and pushes every specialist to study.
