Factbox
Did U Know?
Cars and pick-up trucks are responsible for about 20% of the carbon dioxide released into the air.

Global warming is the increase of the Earth’s average temperature. Since the 19th century, the Earth has experienced a significant increase in its temperature. There is also an increase in the level of greenhouse gases, causing more heat from the Sun to be trapped in the atmosphere. For decades, cars, factories and other sources like deforestation has emitted billions of tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. These proved that human are to blame for the cause of global warming.

By 2004, humans has been pumping out over 8 billion tons of carbon dioxide per year and producing millions of pounds of methane. The atmosphere contains about 750 billion tons of carbon, while 800 billion tons are dissolved in the surface layers of the world's oceans now. The Earth’s average temperature has rose from 0.6°C and 0.9°C (1.08°F to 1.62°F). Now, we will further explain the causes of global warming.

"The fate of the living planet is the most important issue facing mankind."

--- Gaylord Nelson
