The Community Affects

They could be anything they dream
they could be.
While trying to figure out how to live and
understand life in a place confused with the
oftentimes clashing realities of poverty and
poor education, children present the toughest
demands on quality education without sacrificing
themselves. But they have their own idea of how
things will go fine, and are trying to help in
their own ways as individuals in building a
world that could be better than today's. The
youth believe that their consciousness of their
vulnerability to risks is their only chance to
know the responsibilities that go with being
young. And to an overwhelming majority of the
world's children, this is becoming a reality --
they are living rather than just surviving life
at home and school.
It has been noted that "a common aspiration
among the youth of every nation is to finish
their education. They see schooling as a key to
all the other things that they aspire for" -- a
successful career, financial stability and
perhaps a harmonious family life in case they
get married and found families later. But for
now, they want material benefits so they and
their families can live comfortably which is not
difficult to attain if they are educated and
skilled. Can they have it if they study without
the assurance of finishing it up to the last
stage?
Children of urban and small town schools, though
intellectually gifted have the smallest amount
of possibility on getting into college and
graduating. They don't even know if they can
push through secondary education. Nevertheless,
their efforts and sacrifices will be left behind
after finishing a short course in grade school.
Thus, if they do finish college, there would be
a lower probability of working for a well-paid
job. As we all know that companies seek and hire
only those who are well-educated and graduated
from a known learning institute. Scholarships
are a hope to every child for it shows light to
continuing their studies. However, only few can
be granted with those.
As long as every child lives in an environment
that continuously stimulates their eager mind
and souls, they would aspire of repaying their
families and building a new place for them to
live. Every day of their young lives, would be
full of sacrifices, tears, sweat and pain but
they continue to search for more. Still, no one
ensures them for receiving more and reaching
their goals. |
