July 1999 & Millennium 2000 End of the World

Since the early 90s, many were getting paranoid on what will be the status of the earth when it reached the year 2000. Many believed that on the year 2000 the world will be doomed, crashed, fall into pieces, wrecked! People say that we should repent in order for us to be inherited in the kingdom of God, because when the world ends, we, the human beings will also die.

But what made the people believe in this prophecy?

In his gloomy prediction Nostradamus seems to foresee the end of the world at the Millennium, the year 2000. He was greatly influenced in this by medieval thinking which held all millenniums in great dread. From the verse it appears that first we must suffer the Asian antichrist 'the King of Mongols' before the advent of this new and terrifying figure. Note that Nostradamus expects war both before and after his coming.

Even though many of Nostradamus' predictions came true and became a big issue, his prediction on the day of doom is the frightening and made people panic on the New Year's Eve.

However this prediction did not came true. A lesson was learned by many of us, we should believe in God alone.
