What is a Legacy? According to the Merriam Webster's Dictionary, a legacy is anything handed down from the past, as from an ancestor or predecessor. For our purposes, a legacy is someone who has made a huge impact on our society, and who continues to influence us today.

When we began to search for a topic, we had many great ideas, but soon realized that just about all of them were already taken. After much deliberation and consideration, we landed upon this topic: Legacies.

In making this website, our mission was to educate our readers about some of the most influential people in the past century. We came up with this list based on our own opinions, but also based on surveys of students and faculty in our school, and surveys on the internet. Based on our results, we were able to break down who everybody viewed as the most important legacies, from who they knew were important yet did not know much about. These made up our Honorable Mention, and Top 12 most influential people.
