Do you like funny stories? Then Hank Zipzer I got a 'D' in Salami is the book for you. It is about a kid named Hank whose mom owns The Crunchy Pickle deli. Unfortunately he got all D's on his report card. With the help of his friends he threw the report card in the meat grinder at The Crunchy Pickle while it was running so his mom would not find out. Then that night, his mom tells him she is going to get a 'big deal' and her salami might be sold in stores-the salami that he ground his report card in! If you want to figure out how Hank solves his problem, read Hank Zipzer I got a 'D' in Salami by Henry Winkler. I recommend this book for Transitional and Intermediate students for its great humor.
