The
Righteous
Religions of Islam and Buddhism
Did you know that Muslims are so righteous that they
pray five times a day? Did you know that by meditating, Buddhists can
escape reincarnation? Islam and Buddhism are extremely peaceful, but
complicated religions. Islam is one of the most complex religions of
the world, and Buddhism is one of the most peaceful and intriguing
religions. Basically, they are both highly important and interesting
religions.
Islam is one of the most complicated religions ever.
It also has a very long history. In the year 570 A.D., a prophet named
Mohammad was born in the city of Mecca. The Angel Gabriel then revealed
God's Word to Him piece by piece over a period of 23 years. The
God of
the Muslims is known as "Allah", which means
"The God" in Arabic. God's
Word has been written down by the prophet Mohammad in what is known as
the Qur'an. Muslims are expected to perform several acts of
worship,
especially in the Holy Month of Ramadan, when they must not eat, drink,
smoke, or have ill thoughts from dawn to dusk. They can also give money
to the poor, perform Profession of Faith, etc. In 622 A.D., Mohammad
left Mecca because of the high opposition faced, and migrated to
Medina. That was the first year of the Islamic calendar. Islam is a
very
righteous religion indeed.
Buddhism is an extremely peaceful and interesting
religion. It also has an interesting history. It all started sometime
between the 6th and 4th centuries B.C., when Siddhartha Gautama
(Buddha) was born. He then took it upon himself to find a way to end
all reincarnation, and therefore, suffering. In Buddhism, the goal is
to meditate and become enlightened. You wish to enter the state of
Nirvana, through which you shall escape reincarnation. To enter
Nirvana, you must practice the complicated process of the Eightfold
Path. Buddhism is a whole religion, and a whole lifestyle. It is, in
fact,
one of the most peaceful religions of the world.
