In the late 1970s the Ku Klux  KLan had a some what respectable image.  The  Ku Kux Klan does not have as many members as they did in the late 19th century and early 20th century. The Ku Klux Klan is not as violent as they were in the 20s and 30s. They are a lot more careful about what they do and say because of civil rights. The Klan population today has reached 6,000 members. Most of them just in the south.
