The fashion wheel is spinning and time is running out! “Fashion changes every decade and the new styles take over the old trends”, said fashion design teacher, Mrs. Fort, from Garden City High School.  Fashion trends from the past build up trends for the future. Fur products might make new fashion trends, but only by killing the animal for their pelts. Every year more than 50 million animals all over the world are killed for the use of fashion products. Different types of animals are used like seals, raccoons, cats, dogs, foxes, wolves and many more. Animals used for fur products are being killed for their skin using various methods; however, many choose to skin the animals with a highly sharp object while animal is still alive, to preserve the skin at its best without damage to its fur. Millions of animals are being tortured and killed in inhumane ways; people are not aware of when they purchase fur apparel. Jackets, sweatshirts, boots, and accessories with a fur trim said to be artificial fur is many times real fur labeled with a different pronunciation for an animal. Products are sold with real animal fur; however it is not announced to the public as real fur. So join the fur free club and see what you can do to make a difference like:

Become a member of fur free fashion. Help stop the crime of killing for fur. Fur trends kill innocent creatures that have no way to defend themselves from people who kill for pleasure or for money. However, do you think killing for fashion is necessary? There are alternate solutions to stop fur farming like the ones listed above. Time flies so don’t allow the crime of fur farming to be the price for fashion.
