Did you know that the largest fur market in the world is in Russia ? The Russians love fur and see fur as one of the biggest fashion trends. Accessories of fur are also produced for the fur market. In Russia , the fur fashion is very popular; fur is made into coats, hats, boots and many other accessories, due to the cold temperatures of Russia . “The Russian’s are in charge of 30% of the domestic fur market.” In Russia , the production of mink and sable products are decreasing, because they are sold at high prices and the consumer wants something more affordable. A sable pelt is sold for around 500 dollars for each individual pelt. To complete a single fur coat, it takes around one hundred sable pelts. Each coat can be sold for about $50,000, since not all pelts are the same and this makes the assembling of the coat harder. The Russians are trying to sell more fur products that cost less than 1,000 dollars and are made from domestic creatures. The largest fur market is Russia , because it is not only wanted by its own population, but also by other countries like the United States .
