Sustainable Living
Sustainable living is about making careful decisions about our planet. It's about looking after the Earth's resources so that future generations do not inherit our bad choices. We need to use the Earth's resources carefully so that we do not exhaust them and ruin our planet. For example, if we continue to cut down major forests for farming land, many animals will not have anywhere to live and species will be brought to extinction. Not only that, it will have an effect on our carbon dioxide and oxygen levels as trees use carbon dioxide and produce oxygen.
Becoming sustainable does not have to be difficult. You could start simply by growing your own vegetables or choosing food that has been grown in your own country. Lots of foods are imported from across the world and as we have stated before, carbon dioxide can be very harmful to our atmosphere. Airplanes bring these foods into the country and they are a big cause of increased carbon output (from their exhaust).
In our next section we will show you some simple ideas to become more sustainable
