    There are two families in the Strigiforme order.  They are Strigidae and Tytonidae.   

Differences between Tytonidae and Strigidae

Tytonidae

Strigidae

Heart-shaped face Round face
Large head and long legs Smaller head and shorter legs
Hunt at night Some kinds hunt during the day.
No feathered ear tufts Have feathered ear tufts.
