like?
They are gray with a yellow around their
beaks. Their
bellies are white with gray stripes. The tail has black
and white ‘stripes’. |

How big are they?
Gray Hawks are about 17 inches long. When flying, the
wings spread out to about 38 inches. |

lay?
The female lays 2-3 bluish white eggs once a year. That
hatch in about 32 days. |

fledglings stay in the nest?
They make a nest of sticks and twigs covered by leaves.
Babies stay in the nest one month. |

What kind of place do
they like to live in?
The Gray Hawk builds nests in the tops of trees about 50 feet
high. They like sycamore trees, evergreens, and cottonwood
trees with water nearby.
