How big are they?
They are 1 ˝ feet long. If they spread out their wings as far
as they would go, they would be about 2 ˝ feet wide. |

How many eggs do they
lay?
Females lay from 3 to 6 white eggs once a year. The eggs hatch
in a month. |

How long do the
fledglings stay in the nest?
These birds don’t build nests but use old crow or magpie ones.
They will also live in holes in trees. Sometimes they live on
areas that stick out of buildings, like ledges. The young birds
(fledglings) will leave the nest in 5 weeks. |
