Urban Mythology

Urban Mythology or Urban legend is a modern folklore or myths that were created after the industrial age. The term Urban mythology is simply used to differentiate a modern myth and a traditional myth. A urban myth may not be untrue but sometimes, is distorted, exaggerated and sensationalized over time.

How Do Urban Means Spread?

Urban Myths are repeated in news stories and in recent years, is being distributed by e-mails. People allege that such tales have happened to their friend of a friend. These legends have passed through the years with minor changes.

Nothing much is known about the couple except both are now deceased.

Some Famous Urban Myths

It is said that the sewers of New York city is a home to alligators that grow to enormous sizes after getting flushed down in the toilets from their unsatisfied owners.
Gibraltar Point Lighthouse, an abandoned lighthouse in Toronto Islands is said to be haunted by its murdered keeper.
Sanjay Van, a forest spread in a area of 10 km in New Delhi, India, contains a cremation ground where many people have seen a lady in white saree appearing and disappearing quickly.
50 Berkeley Square, which have housed UK Prime Minister George Canning, is infamous for being the most haunted place in London.
Climbers at Mt. Everest reported that they saw the ghost who died climbing the peak. Two of them claimed that they have shared a snow hole with the ghost while climbing.
