Kindness in a Culture

The world today is a blend of many cultural traditions. What is culture anyway? Most people see it as a combination of beliefs, traditions, art, law, morals, customs, or other habits of a group of people. Cultures are always changing. They change because the ways that people interact with each other change.

Many people of different cultures live and work together all over the world. Today, kids and grown ups are able to easily interact with people from all over the world. Students of different cultures go to school, live in communities, and play together.

It is important to remember that different cultures have different ways of looking at things. They may dress differently and express themselves differently. Sometimes there are differences in expressing gratitude or feelings. Some cultures have very strict rules about the way to behave in public and in private, so try to be aware of the customs of other cultures, especially if you are going to work and live together. It is important to avoid offending someone because you do not understand their culture. People who are able to accept the differences of others are happier people and will likely be more successful because they know how to get along with many different people.

"Nós, crianças de todas as nações, queremos viver num mundo melhor, onde pessoas de diferentes culturas e religiões sejam respeitadas."

A nation of cultures

We, children of all nations, want to live in a better world, where people of different cultures and religions are respected.
