CAUSES
To catch cholera, people eat contaminated food and get very sick. Also, sources may be from brackish water (brackish means half salt water, half fresh water).

SPREAD
Contaminated foods or drinks must be consumed to be diagnosed with cholera.

PREVENTION
To prevent getting cholera, wash your hands many times, including before and after you eat. Clean, filtered water is also essential in order to not catch this deadly disease.

TREATMENT
Most patients can be treated with rehydration salts. Severely dehydrated people are sometimes treated with fluids and antibiotics.
