CAUSE

Tuberculosis is a disease that is very contagious. It spreads through the air because the people who are infected by tuberculosis have this disease in their lungs. The germs directly attack the lungs as soon as they enter. The symptoms of this disease are; coughing, weight loss, coughing up blood, fever ,and sweating. Nearly 10 million people are infected by tuberculosis but only 10% actually must beware of contact. Nearly two-million people die of tuberculosis each year mostly in Africa. Africa has a huge risk because of the vast variety of diseases already. Many of these people are children nearly 100,000 of the 2 million.
Tuberculosis most commonly affects the lungs, but it also can affect any other organ in the body. Many years ago Tuberculosis or TB was called the “consumption”. This was because if a patient wasn't treated correctly, they would slowly die.

SPREAD

A person can get Tuberculosis when they inhale sputum air. The sputum gets hung in the air when someone who has lung Tuberculosis coughs, shots, sneezes, or spits into a warm air. If this happens in a super market, it is possible that all the people that walk through the contaminated air can also get lung Tuberculosis. You don't get Tuberculosis by touching or physically touching someone who has it, you have to breathe in the same air as they do. There is actually a atypical type of Tuberculosis cased by unpasteurized milk.

PREVENTION

Today though, Tuberculosis can be treated successfully with antibiotics. There is as well another organism, it is called atypical Tuberculosis. This kind of Tuberculosis is part of a family called Mycobacterium family. Usually they aren't diseases effective, and are called because of this "colonizers”. Sometimes atypical Tuberculosis can cause an infection inside the body. When this happens, it is sometimes hard to cure. Often when taking drug therapy in just two and half years you will end up with multiple medications.

TREATMENT

The most common treatment for infected Tuberculosis is having to take antibiotics for 6 weeks or until you are cured. If you choose not to take the medication the infection will remain in your lungs and you will be in danger of getting active Tuberculosis. Some people that take the pill have side effects like rashes, upset stomach, and even liver disease. For active Tuberculosis your doctor may recommend that you take four different type of medications. Always avoid drinking alcohol or any other type of affective drug that can impact on your medication and cause the disease to spread even more.
